Nokia is still the best

(Our Tech Blog) Sales of mobile phones in the second quarter of 2011 was closed by Nokia in the first position as a manufacturer of the most widely sold products. Of the total 428.7 million units of mobile phones sold worldwide, Nokia sold as many as 97.9 million units.

The report from Gartner says that mobile phone sales in Q2 rose 16.5% from the same quarter in 2010. Following behind Nokia, Samsung are selling as many as 69.8 million units and was followed by LG with 24.4 million units.

Although Nokia is still topped the world's mobile phone makers, but Gartner also underscored that it is not because of the success of new product introductions. But more because of price-cutting retailers conducted in Europe and China on the old model of Nokia products.

Quoted by detikINET from Gartner on Friday (12/10/2011), other vendors that debuted on the market is Apple who is in position 4, followed by ZTE, then RIM and HTC.

Gartner in its report also said worldwide sales of smartphones based on operating system in which the visible power of Android that dominate the market by selling 46.7 million units. Symbian still in position-2 with 23.8 million units, followed Apple's IOS is in position-3 and RIM in order to 4.

Android and Apple's operating system IOS is continue to climb. Analysts from Gartner observed that the superiority of two operating systems because they have the advantages enjoyed by consumers and required applications market.
