Garfield comics and Garfield cartoon (and friends!)

Garfield-cartoon(Our Tech Blog) Garfield is born from a pen of Jim Davis, the comic strip author. The cat Garfield is named after Jim's grandfather, James Garfield Davis, who is again named after President James A.

Garfield. It is published since June 19, 1978. The main characters are, besides Garfield, his owner Jon Arbuckle and his another pet - dog Odie.The lack of any political or social commentary played a big role in its world-wide success.

With merchandise earning almost $1 billion annually, Garfield has become one great industry.The appearance of the characters in the Garfield comics has changed over years, and the difference is noticeable, and some improvement too, especially between the 80's and the 90's comic.

Being fat and lazy cat, Garfield is also portrayed as cynical, sarcastic, sadistic and pessimistic. He loves to destroy stuff, to maul the mailman and to torment his "colleague" pet Odie. He has comments sharp as a knife, usually on Jon being unable to find a date.
